Each year the Beeghly College of Education recognizes a group of outstanding alumni from the college. This years celebration will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 6:00 in Beeghly College of Education McKay Auditorium.

The Youngstown State University School Psychology Program provides comprehensive training which leads to an Ohio license as a school psychologist.  Those with a background in psychology, education, and other related fields are strongly encouraged to apply.

YSU School Psychology Program Accepting Applications for Summer, 2015!

This fall, information sessions will be held at YSU detailing the graduate program and offering prospective students the opportunity to ask questions and see what the program has to offer.

Information sessions will be held October 15th and November 12th at 1:00 in The Gallery Room in Kilcawley Center at YSU. Web-Based for Summer 2014

The Early Childhood Generalist Endorsement makes teachers who currently hold the Early Childhood License P-3 license more marketable. It adds on grades 4-5 to the Early Childhood license, which allows school districts greater flexibility in teacher assignments. The endorsement focuses on pedagogy, methods, and content for students in grades 4-5.

Important Note:
In order to be recommended for the Endorsement, you must complete all courses and, starting September 1, 2013, pass the
Pearson Assessment exam for the Ohio Early Childhood Generalist (4th – 5th Endorsement).

Subtest 1  -  018 passing score of 220 or higher
Subtest 2  -  019 passing score of 220 or higher

Adding the Endorsement:

To have the EC Generalist Endorsement added to your license you will need to apply online with the ODE. As of January 1st, 2014, the State moved to the submission of all applications online.  After you successfully pass the State of Ohio designated Pearson exam, visit this Ohio Department of Education webpage for instructions about applying. IMPORTANT – You will need to indicate that you were trained at YSU and you will need YSU’s code which is: 063156. The code for the EC Generalist endorsement is 185000. The fee is $20.00.
